My Story…..
Hi. My name is Wendy. Welcome to my flower farm. I’m so happy to share my flowers and gardens with you.
What started as a small flower patch, soon became an obsession! I absolutely love growing flowers and using them to make beautiful bouquets for others to enjoy! I use sustainable, all natural farming practices, and I love to share what I’ve learned.
My farm is unique in that I use a seed to bouquet philosophy. I don’t buy flowers from outside sources. I grow all the flowers that I use in my bouquets. I plant the seeds then nurture them from seedlings to mature plants. When they’re ready, I harvest their beautiful blooms to make my one-of-a-kind bouquets. You won’t find most of these flowers at your local florist.
From seed to bouquet, let me share my amazing flower journey with you!
The allure and beauty of flowers is like magic. Flowers can brighten our mood, lift our spirits and make us smile. They bring joy and happiness. They add beauty and life to a room. Their fragrance can invoke memories that transport us to a different time. They truly are a special gift from nature.
The Beginning….
Before I started my flower farm, I would buy grocery store flowers and would watch YouTube videos to learn how to arrange them. I watched a lot of YouTube videos in 2020 during the COVID lockdown. I learned about mass cut flower production and that most grocery store bouquets come from overseas. WHAT!?! I was shocked by that.
I also learned about all the chemicals they use throughout the process of getting them to the stores. I quickly realized I should start growing my own flowers. I cringe when I see people in the grocery store take a bouquet and inhale deeply to see how it smells. YIKES! If they only knew about all of the toxic chemicals they are inhaling!
The all natural farming practices I use are not only good for the environment, they are better for everyone!
I’ve always loved gardening. I started out with a small vegetable garden. My cut flower craze started in 2021. I’ve always dreamed of a flower garden where I could create a beautiful bouquet anytime throughout my growing season, which for me here in zone 6b is around the middle of April to the end of October.
I started a small flower garden for myself. My sister-in-law told me my flowers were gorgeous and that I should try to sell some bouquets, so I did….out of the back of my car. I only sold one bouquet, to my sister-in-law, but that started me on my flower farming journey. Thank you Jayne!

My Roadside Flower Stand is OPEN !
Every Thursday - Sunday until frost
Stop by my self-serve roadside flower stand to see the beautiful wrapped bouquets and vase arrangements that I made with this week’s fresh harvest. I currently accept cash and venmo.
Located at 3658 State Route 5 and 20, Canandaigua, NY. Google maps calls it 3658 Hwy 5. We are approximately 3 miles east of Lowe’s just before Gehan Rd.
Come see the adorable flower cart that Don made from his father’s old 4-wheeler trailer. I have the perfect little cooler to keep your flowers fresh and a big umbrella to keep them protected from the weather. I hope to see you soon.
History of My Roadside Flower Stand….
The roadside flower stand has taken on many forms over the years (photos below).I haven’t sold flowers out of the flower stand the last couple years for several reasons.
First, it’s not good for flowers to be out in the hot weather. Their vase life decreases significantly the longer they’re in the heat.
Second, although a lot of traffic goes by, it’s hard to get people to stop. I’m in a 55 mph speed zone. It’s not an area where people are leisurely cruising around looking at shops, and I’ll admit, my signage isn’t great.
And last, there’s a lot more theft than I anticipated, and I have a really hard time dealing with that. I didn’t think I had to worry about theft in my area, so it took me completely by surprise.
So I’m doing my best to remedy those issues. I bought the perfect 3-door, glass front cooler to keep the flowers out of the heat. It fits on the flower stand, has an interior light that I think looks really cool, and the doors lock so I can secure it at night. I also bought a big umbrella. Even though the flower stand is under a large tree, it still gets hit with afternoon sun. The umbrella helps with that and also helps keep the rain off.
I’ll also be working on my signage and marketing, and I’m installing another security camera so I’ll have 2 that notify me when someone is at the stand.
I’m excited to be using the roadside flower stand again. I thank all the wonderful people who have already bought my flowers and help to support my flower farm.

The Finger Lakes Region in New York
When some people hear New York, they may think of New York City. I live in the Finger Lakes Region, a gorgeous area that should be on everyone’s bucket list.
My Location…..the Finger Lakes Region
I could easily fill several pages gushing about how wonderful the Finger Lakes Region is, and how I am so very fortunate to have lived here my entire life. The lakes are breathtakingly beautiful, literally. You will stand there in awe, they’re that gorgeous! The lakes and surrounding hills were carved by glaciers! What?!? Yes, really!
There are 11 lakes in the Finger Lakes Region (see the names below) and there’s SO MUCH to do here all year - there’s boating, swimming, kayaking, fishing, hiking, concerts, bowling, water parks, ziplines through the trees, water skiing, snow skiing, snow shoeing, and snowmobiling…..just to name a few. We have award winning wineries, really cool micro breweries, and fantastic restaurants. You will love all the unique shops, museums, libraries, festivals, art galleries, farmers markets, and craft fairs.
We have some of the best artisans in the country. Whether their talent is working with leather, canvas and paints, wood working, or glass blowing, this area is known for quality crafts you won’t find anywhere else.
