Lovely Lisianthus Bouquets

These beautiful red, white and blue bouquets are straight lisianthus, no fillers, no foliage.
Lisianthus is the most time consuming, labor intensive flower that I grow. They take approximately 8 months from germination (when the seeds are started indoors) to bloom time. That’s a lot of hours in watering, maintaining and caring for these plants. Compare that to sunflowers that take 2 months. So why do I grow them? They are gorgeous with lots of fluffy petals, they are often mistaken for roses. They also come in a wide variety of colors. Some varieties have a ridiculous amount of blooms per stem. I’ve counted over a dozen blooms on one stem. Check out the picture below of the white stem that has 18 buds! That’s crazy! Lisianthus also have an incredibly long vase life. It’s not uncommon for them to last 2 weeks or more in the vase, especially if you remove the older blooms as they fade and let the new buds form. Some of the later blooms will be a lighter shade than the original blooms. I grow the variety called Voyage and I get my seeds from Johnny’s Select Seeds. I hope you enjoy them.
