More Fall Colors at Lafayette Restaurant

October 22, 2026

These bouquets include a couple mums that came into bloom this week called Fine Feathers and Red Carousel. If you look closely at the blooms you’ll see that the petals on the flowers are hollow, like a straw. As the blooms mature the petals develop what looks like a small spoon on the end which becomes bigger as the blooms get older. They refer to these types of mums as quilled and spoons. They are both so cool looking. I only have one plant of each of these, so I’ll be taking cuttings off these next spring to create more.
