June 8, 2026 - Colorful Spring Bouquets at Hopewell Market
These beautiful bouquets are full of everything currently blooming in my garden.
The focal flowers are my heirloom peonies in light pink, white, and/or dark pink. I don’t know the specific varieties because they were growing here when we moved in. According to my neighbor, whose grandparents once lived here, these peonies are over 80 year old, incredible! They are harvested at ‘marshmellow’ stage so they don’t look very big at first, but within a day they will pop open into big, beautiful, wonderfully scented frilly blooms.
I used may different filler flowers such as - ranunculus, bachelor buttons, mini sunflowers, nigella, yellow yarrow, lupine, and sweet William. Most everything in my spring garden is about 3-4 weeks behind because of the excessive rain and cool temperatures we had this spring.
The foliage is a mix of boxwood, Rose of Sharon branches, and I even tried a few Elderberry branches for the first time.
I think they turned out beautiful. I hope you enjoy them.
